Repairs near finished, next stop Subic or Manila

Palawan East coast, forecast 10 Feb 14:00
From Grant in Labuan, couple of messages....
Tuesday 8th, 16:50:
These last few days have curtainly been a challenge.............yesterday managed to get water pump out of the generator,  exhaust sump out. Oil drained from main engine and generator.  Sourced and purchased new bearings and seals for water pump only to find that the shaft is pitted, so as we speak have local machine shop turning a new one, hope to have this evening install tomorrow. Have managed to repair exhaust sump, just waiting for fiberglass to dry, fit tomorrow also all going well. It will be better and stronger than original and will schedual same repair for small generator exhaust sump when back in HK.
With all the running around have had to move into the marina, but have neg good rate.

Intend to fully service both the main engine and generator before leaving so am sure everything has been done.
Cheers for now, Grant.

And Wednesday 9th, 13:40

We now have the main engine exhaust sump and new hosing installed.
Have fully serviced main engine and now running.............. all good now.

Sharft for water pump was fraction too large, so have sent back to machine shop to turn down fraction more as was concerned may damage new seals...........hope to have back this afternoon.
All going well my plan is to go straight to Subic or Manila.
Keen to leave here...........as soon as have water pump installed and generator up and running properly.
Important to have generator running properly as having to run more often and longer than would be normal becouse service battery bank not holding charge.
Back to work now. cheers, Grant.

    Cheers, Grant!
Looking forward (if them’s the right words) to hearing, when you get back, what caused the probs with engine and genset....
Great work in getting all fixed.
Wishing you fair breezes, seems to be light on the beam for the first bit then backing to N and slightly fresher, 10+. Bit lump of weather coming down around Saturday, will freshen breezes near Manila 20-25knts easterly (from PassageWeather).
