112 Deg 21 minutes East
Hard 2 Days at the Office.
Lost a lot of Time - due to Electrical and Mechanical Problems.
Jerry Rigged Exhaust using Duck Tape and Spare Mast Ring.
Incase we need Motor in Emergency - can't Motor or Motor Sail.
Sailing Only now.
Have been - having to run Generator longer and more often.
Noel now tells me - Service Battery Bank has not been holding Charge in Phuket.
I suspect one or more of the Batteries is Defective.Should have been Load Tested and Rectified.
Small leak at the Back of Generator Water Pump - now getting worse.
No Spare Pump - so loathe to remove Water Pump incase - make worse.
Having to Run with No Instruments or Plotter - only Navigation Lights at Night.
Have rung ahead to see if they can find Replacement Exhaust Sump.
No Luck so far - will ring Roger Easton Monday.
Do you know any place where one could be Peter? [PF: trying to get in touch with Roger...]
Whoever installed this one on Xena - put Screws in Front where easy to get to - but Glued down at Back - so will most likely have to break this one out when we Remove.
The Good News is:
Wind Speed and Direction Instrument started working again. Lots of wind so most likely loose Wire on top of Mast.
Also - Found what I came in looking for: Smoother Water -
Geographical Lift along the Shore and Favourable Current.
Just off 30 metre contour - not sure where I will Stop?
Entrance to Miri Marina is shallow and often breaking - so Tricky without a Good Motor - will see how things Go. [PF: should be nearing Miri as this posted, 11:00 5/2]
Two Boyz have to sail by Woollies and Arrow at top of Mast - learning Lots!
