Day One Double Header

Today's result: line Honours and Win on corrected time, beating Baby Tonga into second on corrected by 1 minute 12 seconds.

Breezes were as per forecast: 8-12 knots E to NE. But they were rather lighter half hour before the 09:00 start, so start was delayed before they sent us off on course 43 at around 9:30. This is a geometrical course, diamond shaped with a sausage and final run to the finish, which is Seraph a lovely old gaff-rigged schooner belonging to the Royal Thai Navy.

We led the fleet at the first mark, were behind Storm at the second mark after little tussle with them and a tanker heading South, then we walked away in the run to the next mark and led to the finish, about 6 minutes ahead of our good mates on the lovely Warwick 64, Moonblue 2 of Pete Churchouse.

Asian Yachting report:
Only one race for the Premier Cruising class, saw Peter Forsythe & Jing Lee's X-55 Xena take out the daily double of line and handicap honours. Aussie Peter Sorenson lived up to his racing reputation when he steered the chartered Beneteau F53 Baby Tonga into second place. Close on there (sic) heels, Jon Wardill's evergreen Cassidy 55 Australian Maid corrected out into third place, in front of Peter Churchouse's Warwick 64 Moon Blue 2, who were fast around the course but couldn't create enough separation to settle on fourth place.
