Xena leaves Samui, on her way home

Desperate to improve our IRC handicap, we made a few modifications to
Xena before departure..... (re the handicap, don't get me started)
Xena left Samui yesterday after lunch yesterday with Grant, Noel and Mike aboard.
Grant says:
Final checks completed, dinghy and motor stowed.  Rest of the boat stowed for offshore. Departed Samui after lunch today [11 June].  Big rain storm at present, expect will only last about 1 hour. Wind from behind. All rest OK.
God willing see you in about 9 days.
Cheers, Grant

  1. Grant and the Boyz are just off Ho Chi Minh heading NE at 8kts SOG, with 15-20knot breezes on the beam.
Follow them on the Tracker above Tab.

Looks like Xena got away from Samui ok. Not sure about the new IRC “optimisation”, we might need to recut the sails to fit the new rig. Anyway, don’t get me started!

We have all the cooling water pipes off at present. Will blow thru, try again........maybe overheating ??

PF to Xena, earlier 14 June:
    Hi guys,
You’re scooting along. [8 knots SOG]
Should be much the same, mainly W, but to 25knts perhaps, for next day or two, then moderating. Mostly W, so should be nice beam reaching for you.
There’s a weak low pressure in middle of S. China Sea, around which these are circulating. Could get a bit light and confused and shifty round the Paracels, but will update you closer to them.
Further north will moderate over next few days 10-15 knt.
    Hi to all.
