Moonblue 2 in Samui

The famous Moonblue 2 party, King's Cup 2010
I believe, from Pete Churchouse, she's arriving in Samui today or tomorrow.
Practice starts on Sunday, racing on Monday.
Jing's not able to make it this time, as she's got to head off to Korea next week.

  1. Just now from Pete Churchouse:

Just a bit of an update from the boat.
The guys have had some dramas with the engine, and have been working hard to solve them. Stuff that has never ever happened before on any boat we have owned – so a rather difficult and new experience. This has meant that they are having to sail without engine, with wind dead on the nose and forecast to lighten. They are about 400 miles out of Samui I understand as of this afternoon.
So there is a very definite question mark over their arrival and the ability to run the engine while we are there.
The team is trying to understand why the problem is happening.
We are trying to locate some engine spares that might hopefully fix the problem, and see if it can be fixed by the team or if it needs specialist.

We have certain other spares that are needed and might prevail on someone to help transport them down to Samui. The items are not very large.

  2. From Pete Churchouse, today 3:40pm:
Just a quick update. MB2 is still a long way from Samui with no engine available. Totally under sail only, with the usual headwinds. It looks like we have managed to find required parts which are to be driven over tomorrow to Samui for when boat finally gets here. Mechanic also flying in. Doubtful that will be able to have engine running for Monday racing. If anyone wants to change their plans given this state of affairs, please feel free.
    Cheers Peter C
